UCC Australia is a privately owned distributor helping brands grow across Australia and New Zealand through retail ranging, commercial execution, warehousing and supply chain support.

We work at the point where brand strategy meets operational reality. That means getting products launched properly, stocked correctly, ranged with the right retailers and supported with the systems, logistics and relationships needed to scale sustainably.

Operational scale

UCC supplies more than 3,500 retailers across Australia and New Zealand and operates a purpose-built 5,000m2 Western Sydney warehouse with capacity for 6,000 pallets. Our systems are EDI compliant and built to give brands and retailers cleaner visibility across orders, inventory and fulfilment.

Built for growth

Our role is not limited to moving cartons. We help brands enter market, expand distribution, manage retailer expectations and improve availability across grocery, discount, convenience, pharmacy, technology and other key channels.

History

UCC Australia was established in 1996 as Universal Clearance Company, buying and selling discounted stock across a number of categories. After Kodak asked UCC Australia to take over a number of key accounts, we gradually changed from a stock clearance and parallel import company to a branded goods company. Our expertise in this area, combined with the impending changes to the retail landscape, enabled us to refocus the direction of the company.

After taking over distribution for Kodak products in Kmart, Big W, Officeworks and other leading retailers, we established a sales office in Melbourne in 2010. This allowed us to better manage our growing number of national accounts and provide an end-to-end brand management solution for retail brands looking for exposure in the Australian market.

In 2011, we commissioned a new head office and 5000m2 state-of-the-art warehouse in Western Sydney, which can accommodate 6000 pallets. It boasts a fully-integrated scanning system that’s linked to our ordering and accounting systems, so we remain agile and efficient in every area of our business. In 2016, we established an office in New Zealand to manage our growing portfolio of brands in that market.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

Consumers in Australia are more likely to switch brands for sustainability reasons than any other country in the world. By managing our operations in a sustainable way, we can minimise our impact on the environment and enhance the reputation of our brands and retailers.

Waste

We dispose of waste safely and maintain a stringent program of reusing and recycling, to divert as much waste from landfill as possible. Our suppliers are monitored regularly to ensure they uphold our sustainability standards.

Packaging

We source sustainable packaging for products that need protection during transport or display. 100% of our waste packaging is recycled, so we can reduce our impact without damaging the reputation of our brands.

Water

We aim to reduce our water use, by making sure any water from our sales offices, warehouse and supply chain is used as sustainably as possible. This includes management of rainwater runoff and grey water recycling.

Climate & Energy

Our warehouse was purpose-built with sustainability principles in mind, such as the insulation and careful positioning of vents that allow us to control temperatures without the use of electrical cooling or airflow assistance.

UCC Australia is committed to sourcing our goods ethically and morally, and we only work with brand owners who meet the appropriate guidelines of ethical sourcing which includes: labour rights, human rights, environment, health and safety, and business integrity.
